More than 250 marijuana stalks were confiscated from growing fields in several area townships as law-enforcement officers went on an eradication last week, according to the Stark County Sheriff's Department.

"It primarily came out of Lake, Lexington, Paris, Washington and Tuscarawas townships," Sheriff Timothy Swanson said. "Both in fields and in wooded areas."

Estimated street value of the 258 marijuana plants was $258,000. The sheriff's department was assisted by the Stark County Metropolitan Narcotics Unit and Red Horse Aviation.

So far, no arrests have been made in connection with the confiscated marijuana plants.
