Mother plant too tall

Hi, so I have a massive issue where my mother plant has just kept stretching and has now reached the top of the tent and is past the light. I have lollipopped to see if this would stop the growth but she is still getting taller and taller I don’t know what else to do. Do I need to supercrop? And advice is really appreciated as I’m a little stuck what to do. Leaves have also started to droop now as I’m guessing there not getting light🤦🏼‍♀️

Hello @Db6969 :ciao:

Attach some kind of tie 2/3 of the way up the stem and bend it over so the stem is close to horizontal
Likewise the side branches if necessary
It looks high on nutrients, low on light?

BTW not sure what you mean by mother plant - it's in flower..?

Sorry what do you mean by high on nutrients low on light? I do have some bamboo sticks so will maybe try this they are 3 weeks into flowering, I feed 1L on nutrients every night (30ml coco A 30ml coco B, in a 10L bucket) then top up with water if I don’t get run off.

I mean the tops are clawing and the plants are very stretched, no?
Yeah sorry I thought a mother plant was just an adult🤦🏼‍♀️ This is my first grow lol. They have only started to claw over the last day or so once they went past the light… like I say we haven’t changed any nutrients or anything she has just started to grow crazy this past week

A "mother plant" is the usual name for a plant that has been or is being or will be used to create new plants. Usually by taking cuttings and creating cloned plants. Occasionally we will hear or read about someone calling a plant being grown for seeds as a "mother".

Nothing will stop the plant from stretching once it is into a full on flowering stage. Nothing. Nada.

And advice is really appreciated as I’m a little stuck what to do.
My suggestion is to quickly read up on 'supercropping' since you are already considering that method. Any sort of training method that involves bending the taller branches over so that they are horizontal should work. The sooner you do something the better. And, remember to reinforce the bending by coming up with a way to be sure that the part that is bent over stays bent over.

Some of these training methods that involve bending over the taller branches can be a bit frightening for new growers but the plant will adapt in hours. Yes, it can mean having to do a mild breaking of the stem but this does not mean breaking it off; just breaking the inner woody material with minimal breaking of the bark. You will have to read up on how others hold, twist and bend the stem to soften the interior woody material, etc and chose something that you feel confident will work for you. Confidence and it will fall into place.

The two photos are from an outdoor grow several years ago. I had to do the bending when the plants had been getting so tall that they were taller than the fence and still a bit more flowering stretch to go. The knuckle forms at the bend and is actually a scar tissue. It can become so strong at the point that after several weeks the plant cannot be bent back up.
