NJ- 30 lbs. of mail-order marijuana leads to arrest of NJ woman

DEPTFORD TWP. -- A township woman who had a box containing 30 pounds of marijuana sent to her apartment was arrested on narcotics charges Monday.

Roxanne Smith-Bey, 42, of the New Sharon Woods apartment complex on Tanyard Road was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance more than 25 pounds in weight and possession with intent to distribute.

The marijuana has a street value of $192,000, local authorities reported.

Smith-Bey was placed in a women's facility of the Gloucester County Department of Corrections in default of $10,000 cash bail set by Superior Court Judge Walter L. Marshall Jr.

The arrest was made by the Narcotics Strike Force of the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office with assistance from the Bellmawr and Deptford police departments, the Clayton Police Department K-9 unit and the Underwood-Memorial Hospital tactical paramedics.

Det. Danielle LoRusso of the Narcotics Strike Force was the investigating officer.
