No Soil?

I planted about 10 plants on may 3rd in just dirt, but it looked to be pretty good dirt. Will this work for growing or do I need to plant them in soil?

If there was something growing there before .......yeah......this stuff will grow in just about anything............ It might turn out a whole lot better with some store bought soil though.

There was grass growing out there, and I have some soil would it be too late to just sprinkle some soil over where I planted them at?

Well ....to be honest .....you should have prepared the soil before planting . Now is the wrong time to add soil ...you can ....but it won't do much good . It will help for next time you plant there .
