I was wondering what the best container size for growing mostly indica strain to about 36" final size. Ive heard as big as 5 gal but I was hoping to get some kind of consensus from people who generally target this size plant. I have used 5-gal size with good results but would like to go smaller to save space. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

rule of thumb is 1 gallon of soil per foot of plant. 36" = 3' = 3 gallon minimum. More is always better although some say that for optimum bud growth it's best to have the plant be slightly root bound when it's time to harvest. lol
