Moroccan Customs services in the North cities of Tangier, Nador and Al-Hoceima seized over the past days a total of 588 kg of cannabis resin locally known as Hashish.
On Wednesday and Thursday, some 300 kg of this drug were seized aboard four vehicles heading for Algesiras (south of Spain), worth some USD 365,500 on the European market. Two Moroccan expatriates living in Belgium, two others settled in France and an Algerian-born French national were arrested during these operations.
In the North-eastern city of Nador, customs services on Wednesday seized 116 kg of cannabis resin onboard a van belonging to a Moroccan expatriate in Spain heading for Almeria (southern Spain). Another 117kg were also confiscated on the same day onboard a vehicle bound for Spain and belonging to an Algerian-born French national.
Police services in the northern city of Al-Hoceima arrested, on the same day, a Moroccan national living in the Netherlands with 55 kg of cannabis resin hidden in his car while preparing to leave for Malaga (south of Spain).
