Partial harvest

I am about to harvest my plant I see amber trichones on my upper buds and the hairs have turned amber but the middle and lower buds still have have white hair. I think my top buds are starting to foxtail. Question is can I cut in stages? Top buds now and middle and low after they mature more.

Yes, that's a common practice.

You can cut in stages if you like. Depends what high your going for. IMO if the trichs on the middle and bottom are mostly cloudy, chop it all.

. Cloudy trichomes are at peak potency / cannabinoid content.

the closest I've been able to get is about 10% clear 80% cloudy 10% amber throughout the plant. Some trichs will also continue to turn during the drying/curing stage.
