PC Case Grow

Hello, thank you for taking the time to read this words.

So, i want to grow a plant inside of a Pc case. I have been doing some research on this and i want your opinions on the components to make this happen.

Pc case - Height: 43.8 ; Width: 19.5; Depth: 41.5 .
2 Fans - 120mm x 25mm .
Grids (for holding activated carbon as filter) .
Led 5050 Light strip 5meters / 35 watts, 60led/m, dc 12v .
Led connectors(to connect leds) .
White spray to paint the insides of the pc case .
Tape to seal all the holes and so the smell doesn't go through .


Are the strip lights enought to make a plant grow ?
What type of carbon filter should i buy ?

I want the electric bill to be the lower as it possible.

Hey This123,

Kewl… a pc case microgrow sounds interesting… think 40 wsf is the target but should be ok. Not my strong suit so let’s get a few more opinions on your light tho.

I don’t run a charcoal filter so no help there.…

I’d suggest only 1 plant at a time til you get your sea legs…

I built one of these before! Let me go through my journals and find it for you

35w in a pc case? Should be enough. What harm is there in giving it a go and seeing how far you get. I say build it and see. Carbon filter, any thing tiny small. Probably best to modify a cars cabin filter.
I love me a small grow, hope you post a build thread and grow journal here. Id follow for sure

So like i said i found an old pc tower... Its not working at all but thats ok itll serve its purpose none the less..

Its not very big i couldnt imagine doing a whole pc grow in this thing.

But its more than enough room to get some clones started and maybe a solo cup or 2.

I just finished gutting it out going to give it a good wash

Im going to take the 2 tiny desk fans i have on the floor of the tent and put one one the bottom pulling air in
And one on the top opposite side pushing air out.

At some point im going to paint the inside white.

Not really sure how many bulbs will fit in there before it qualifies as an easy-bake oven lol

so im gunna start with 2 and see what i can manage to keep the temps at.

I probably wont finish it tonight but ill update pics of it as i go and of the ladies pistils are showing enough on 2 of them to get pics so watch out!! lol

And thanks everyone for all the input thus far it really makes growing so much more exciting having you guys around!

Cleaned out and painted for reflectivity

Also i was able to get my hands on
A bathroom exhaust fan the kind that goes into the ceiling. Its rated at 50cfm
Which is more than enough for this little box

Im going to figure out a way to secure it to one end of it like this

It is already wired so i just have to plug it in

Install a power strip

Add a few bulbs

And let there be light!!!

Its too late to start drilling to attach the fan on just yet

So first thing in the morning i will install the fan

Cant really think of anything else i might need any suggestions or notice anything i should be concerned about?

And to think i was gunna scrap those seedlings
But now i think this is coming together better than i couldve imagined and it hasnt cost me a penny yet!

This was years ago but I take it something more sophisticated along these lines none the less?
