Pine bedding?

Is pine bedding good source of soil mixture? I just seen it around the house lying, and though about it, anyone know?

I cannot think of anything that pine bedding would do in your soil except retain and absorb moisture excessivley, which is a bad thing.

I have heard cannabis is alot growing tomatoes. I tried using pine needles to hold down the weeds and it killed the plants. ever notice where you fine pine needles there is no grass or anything else, esp moss growing
