The Westborough Planning Board is asking residents for their input before a proposed bylaw regarding zoning for medical marijuana dispensaries is voted upon at the March 5 Town Meeting.
The public hearing will take place Tuesday, Feb. 5 at 7:30 p.m. in room 23 of the Forbes Municipal Building.
As proposed, the bylaw includes an outright ban of dispensaries and cultivation in Westborough.
However, Planning Board members in early discussions noted that bans may not withstand a legal challenge, and therefore included fallback zoning regulations in the bylaw.
Chair Lester Hensley said the fallback zoning would only allow dispensaries and cultivation facilities in areas zoned for adult entertainment, and would require special permits.
The town's adult entertainment district includes parcels fronting on Town Meeting Drive at the Northborough line.
