WEST DES MOINES, Iowa Des Moines Police found 314 pounds of marijuana in a semitrailer truck stopped on Interstate 80 in West Des Moines.
Taken into custody was 52-year-old Santos Garcia, of Amarillo, Texas, the driver, who was accused of marijuana trafficking.
Police Lieutenant Tom Trimble says officers believe it's an organization and they hope to reach much higher.
Police said the marijuana seized Monday had a street value of more than 800-thousand dollars.
Police say the shipment originated in Amarillo. Officers in Des Moines had worked with Texas law officers for weeks on the probe.
