A husband and wife were arrested after St. Lucie County Sheriff's investigators found more than 1.5 pounds of marijuana and more than $13,000 at their home, according to records released Monday and officials.

Oscar Sardinas and his wife, Anna, both 39, were arrested as investigators executed a search warrant early Monday at their home in the 800 block of Northeast Camino Street.

Investigators found at least 27 ounces of marijuana — more than 1.5 pounds — during the search. Nearly $7,000 was found on the kitchen counter and almost $6,400 turned up in Oscar Sardinas' pocket and wallet.

Investigators discovered a .22 caliber pistol in the bedroom, a scale in the garage and a small amount of pot in a Honda Accord.

Oscar Sardinas said all the marijuana found in the home was his, saying he was going to sell it to pay some bills, according to records. He said the marijuana was delivered to him but supplied no names, records state.

Anna Sardinas made no statements.

Anna Sardinas and Oscar Sardinas each were arrested on charges of possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana and drug equipment possession and/or use. Oscar Sardinas also faces an additional charge of possession with intent to sell/manufacture/deliver marijuana.

Anna Sardinas was released from the St. Lucie County jail on $5,500 bail, while her husband was released on $10,500 bail, according to the jail.
