A 32-year-old Queens motorist is facing a felony drug charge after police found more than 100 bags of marijuana and $7,612 in cash in his car, authorities said.

Police Capt. Frank Cariello said Officers William Pataky and John Marello stopped Jermaine Thompson of 119-42 189th St. in St. Albans at 5:30 p.m. Thursday on New School Street because he failed to signal before turning.

The officers, assigned to the 4th Precinct Auto Theft Squad, saw him toss a package from the front seat of his 1997 Jeep onto the back. It turned out to be marijuana, Cariello said. The officers searched the car and found 116 plastic bags of marijuana and two packages of marijuana, all totaling more than 8 ounces - about $2,400 worth - Cariello said.

They found the money in a bundle in Thompson's pocket. Police said Thompson was driving with a revoked license.

He was charged with third-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony. He was also issued traffic tickets and summonses.
