I wouldn't use honey, because it can actually harm the beneficial organisms in soil. It may give plant a little energy but not enough benefit to offset harm to soil.

Many of us use unsulphered molasses for several reasons. One is to give plant more energy from carbs (and carbs are form more usable for plants). It also provides a lot of micronutrients. Other reason is to feed the soil organisms that help plant take up nutrients. Use a spoonful per gallon, teaspoon or up to tablespoon.
