Five people who tell police they were in possession of medical marijuana were robbed on Friday at a residence in northwest Fort Collins and were tied up at gun point in the process, according to Fort Collins police spokeswoman Rita Davis.

Davis said the incident occurred shortly before 9 p.m. Friday on Berwick Lane, according to a 22-year-old man who spoke with investigators after emergency room staff at Poudre Valley Hospital alerted police a man was being treated for lacerations sustained during a robbery.

The 22-year-old told police four people entered his home, including one person who he knew personally, Davis said. The man also told police the four intruders tied him up along with four others and held them at gun point.

"The suspects stole cash and alleged medical marijuana," Davis said in an e-mail. "The case is open and remains under investigation so very little information is available for release at this time."

When asked if the other four alleged victims were hospitalized and if there was any indication of how much money and marijuana were stolen, Davis said she did not have any further information for release as the investigation is open and ongoing.

I'm not surprised. High quality pot is almost priceless. a good grower can get rick quick, but robbed even quicker...thats why we need safe, protected grow centers...this whole thing could get crazy, with growers getting robbed/ijuried all over the place, then armed cultivations kamps popping up, turf wars, etc, etc
