By next week, the Legislative Committee on Health will determine the next course of action for the rules and regulations for medicinal marijuana. On Monday, Senator Tina Muna Barnes submitted her committee report on the four public hearings held in the past few weeks complete with recommendations for amendments and companion bills.
Health chair Senator Dennis Rodriguez, Jr. says he is reviewing the recommendations and will make a determination of whether to amend, reject or approve the rules by next week Monday. He tells KUAM News that changes will definitely be made to the rules, adding, "I realize this is a mandate of the people, so we have to work really hard to ensure we get it done one way or another."
If no action is taken on the current proposal by August 10, they will automatically lapse into law.
