It was a rotten smell. IMO. My roommate seemed to not smell it. It’s weird because I went to check on her this morning and the smell is gone. So now I have no clue as to what it could have been.
Should I start defoliating or wait?

Covid has that smell thing... get tested.
If you soil was anaerobic it will smell like rotten eggs (hydrogen sulfide).
It wouldn't miraculously fix itself over night. The change to aerobic conditions wood take a few days easy.

That could be a sign of mold, i would start looking her over well, to be certain that it's not. Check all the bud sites carefully.

I’ve checked all over and have found nothing. Would mold or rot cause brown hairs to appear so early in flower? I’m seeing just that and am uncertain of the cause
