The Professor Reviews California Orange From Expert Seeds

Hey 420. Today I'll be reviewing California Orange from Expert Seeds. She's Orange Velvet x Jack The Ripper and is advertised as a 50/50 indica/sativa strain. She grew quite tall and has tight nugs spaced apart on the stems. This wasn't the easiest plant to grow and was quite picky when it came to temperature. She likes it on the warmer side and I exposed her to cool temps throughout much of her early flowering period. She suffered a bit for this but still made it to flower with some very pretty buds. She is very resinous and sticky and can be a bit difficult to roll with. The buds are dense and glisten like little crystals in the sunlight. She smells like citrus from an oil burner. Fruity incense comes to mind with a recognisable skunk notes to remind you that it's cannabis. She tastes similar to how she smells. Incense and Skunk with citrus orange hints that hang around for sometime after each exhale. Her effects are described as 50/50 but I found that she is more of a relaxing strain perfect for watching movies or socialising in the evening but not giving you the desire to get up and do too much. I went for a couple walks with this one and found myself feeling pretty exhausted by the time I returned home. I found her quite good for appetite stimulation as well but didn't get the full munchies. I felt relaxed and high for much of the duration with the effects obvious on my face. This stuff gives you very dry and red eyes and I recommend having plenty of water at hand. Overall I like this one as she has a distinct flavour and is a good relaxer. I recommend this as more of an evening strain though I don't think that seasoned tokers would have too much of a problem using this one throughout the day. Very nice strain indeed....

Amazing looking buds. Sensi Seeds back in the early eighties used to offer California orange which I grew out a couple of times in the mid 90's and it was an outstanding stone which I still look for till now and I was very disappointed when Sensi discontinued the line. Your buds look very much like what I remember but I wonder if the genetics are actually the same ?

Nice review prof
Lol. Missed it again. Thanks GG

thanks aphrodisia. Lol, I was just a nipper back in the nineties. Didn't get my first taste until the early 2000's. There's a lot of discontinued lines I'll never get to try

Orange Hill Special by Dutch Passion is Orange Bud x Californian Orange and apparently is a short plant. I have some seeds to try next.
Sounds good YB! Dutch Passion have some great new strains. I wish you luck
