I have this plant, tangerine dream auto, lots of buds up and down the stalks, there are so many leaves covering the buds, I'm thinking I need to remove the majority of them to expose buds to light. the way the leaves are hanging, you would think its under watered, but it's not.

what do you think?

thank you for any advice.

overwatering can cause leave to droop too. Ive always trimmed twice in flower but only from mid up....I trim at end of stretch and about the final 2 weeks of flower to open the sites up a bit

I dont think its overwatering, soil is quite dry every 2-3 days when I water.

I should be exposing budsites to light. correct?

Yours looks like mine when she needs water. I allow my soil to dry fully before watering. Whatever you are doing keep up the good work. Over watering has killed 100 times more plants than under watering.

When leaves are droopy , it's due overwatering.
I would suggest you fix the droopy issue before deciding to trim or not.

Is it in flowering stage?
Sometimes defoliating it during flowering can cause stress, the easiest method is by tucking the leaves or maybe daily defoliate few leaves instead of lump sum
