What's so wrong with 24/0 lighting?

Well as the title states what is so wrong with a 24/0 light schedule? I do it and it seems fine. Does it produce slower growth or something? I relize it's not natural for the plant but hell neither is growing indoors under artificial lights and reflectors and using fertilizer. So what are the pros and cons of a 24/0 light schedule? Im a curious fellow and if i get good enough reason I would be open to changing my light schedule. I always see ppl say the roots grow in the dark but my plants that run 24/0 have an abundance of roots so whats the deal?

Electric bill. Plus plants need time to recover from feeding, just like a child grows will sleeping. My roots are always in the dark, even when lights are on. Works for me but to each his own. Good luck Lexort

Thanks mtn dew. My roots are in the dark while the lights are on too i just meant i always see ppl saying they grow more during lights off. Im not really worried about the electric bill when it comes to my cfls they dont even add to my bill it seems not atleast that i noticed lol. It doesn't even seem to impact my girls negatively that i run 24/0 for veg, thats kinda why im wanting to know why people are against it ya know

I use 24/0 when cloning but then drop to 18/0 after transplant. I did read where one farmer was thinking of running 24/0 once his Auto's started to flower. I just think them girls need a break to work underground during lights off. Maybe someone will try a journal like that? The only reason I can think of why farmers have been doing the 12/12 and 18/6 is, it works.

Will do . Wasn't really sure how often to update my grow journal cause growing is a bit slow as im sure you know lol if i had it my way i would take pictures every day but im sure that would bore ppl lol
