when does the "Smell" start?

Hey All, When does the almighty Cannabis plant start to smell during its growth? Not having a sense of smell...Im a little worried about the smell the plants will put out. I MUST figure this out before its to late! Is it during the flowering cycle only? Growing Big Bud and KC39 Thanks again.......Red

all strains are different, some smell during flower, some later flower, some more after total cure
