Why do people trim the tips?

so on clones/cuttings you should trim the tips??

i have seen people also trim the tips during veg also.. is there a purpose for this?

Yes the larger leafs on a fresh taken clone can be reduced by 50% as it helps prevent excessive moisture loss of the cutting other wise it will wilt.

Once you have taken a few clones you will will see why !

Some times tips are trimmed to remove damaged leaf tips caused by nutrient burn or what ever defeciency.


Also they is FIM, fuck i missed or fimming which involves leaf trimming.

Are you saying topping a plant or FIM? totally diferent than shortening the fan leaves on a clone. If that is what you are asking it is to make the side shoots bush out and those can then be toppped or FIM'D and they will all produce 2 shoots doubling the budding sites.
