Our federal government has a monopoly on the supply of marijuana for research or any other purpose. This is very unique, private sources of all other drugs are available to researchers.
It is down right sinister, a crime against humanity, for the medicinal uses of cannabis to be suppressed. Some scientific researchers speculate that cannabinoids play a protective role in the brain, slowing the rate of disease. Ooooops! Who spilled the beans? DEA Administrative Law Judge Mary Ellen Bittner issued her ruling in the matter of Dr. Lyle Craker's application for a DEA license to produce marijuana for federally approved research in a privately funded facility at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in February, 2007. Her opinion was entirely in favor of Dr. Craker.
It read in part: "The existing supply of marijuana is not adequate." "Competition in the manufacture of marijuana for research purposes is inadequate." Making additional supplies available "would be in the public interest."
You can get your church, health or humanitarian group involved. Since February several major religious denominations, including the United Methodist Church and the Presbyterian Church (USA), have sent letters to the DEA in support of Dr. Craker's application.
There is a "Dear Colleague" letter sent out by Reps. John Olver (D-MA) and Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) asking other Representatives to sign their Congressional Sign-On Letter to DEA Administrator Karen Tandy urging the DEA to accept the ruling by Judge Bittner in favor of Dr. Craker.

The American people have been denied scientific information about cannabis far too long.
Prohibition fuels corruption of public officials and injustice in our courts. It triggers violence in our streets and along our borders.
