Cutting the tips

I seen my friend cut the tips off the fan leaves on the whole plant. Kinda the way your supose to cut the tips when you clone. This kept the plant short and stocky, which is good, but will it cause stress making it more of a chance of it becoming male?

Would like to know what you think, because im going to start a sea of green and would like to do that to all my plants to keep it growing nice and bushy.

dont clip. it DOES increase the stress and the percentage of males can increase. too keep plants short, either begin flowering as soon as the plant sprouts or let it grow for 1 week under 18/6 then switch to 12/12 flower.
