Smoking may be the most popular method to use marijuana, but it’s not the only one. Cannabis-derived oils are increasingly popular, and their uses and properties differ depending on what part of the plant they come from and how they are created. Here is a quick run-through of the differences in these oils and their uses.

CANNABIS OIL

Cannabis oil is made using the bud of the marijuana plant plus some other type of oil. Cannabis oil is high in THC which means that it has psychoactive properties. The most common uses of cannabis oil are to get high, as it is commonly used to cook “edibles.” However, experts are becoming more aware of the medicinal uses for cannabis oil. It can be used as a topical cream for many skin conditions as it is useful for inflammation. In addition, it can be used to help reduce pain and nausea, which is why many medicinal marijuana advocates push for its use for cancer patients, The American Cancer Society reported.

HEMP OIL

Hemp oil is derived from crushing the seeds of the marijuana plant. It has nearly indistinguishable levels of THC, which means that it does not give users the classic “high” sensation. However, it does contain high levels of a compound known as CBD, Healthy Hemp reported. Studies have shown that CBD may be useful in reducing anxiety and paranoia, and may even be useful in treating seizures. In fact, Charlotte’s Web is a strain of hemp oil specifically bred to be extremely high in CBD and low in THC, and is used to treat epilepsy. Hemp oil is also traditionally used in beauty products.

HASH OIL

Hash oil is a very concentrated form of cannabis oil that is capable of giving users a potent high with only a small amount. Like cannabis oil, it also has medicinal uses for relieving pain, uplifting your mood, and reducing stress. However, according to The Atlantic, due to the process used to create hash oil, its THC amounts are about three times higher than traditional cannabis oil. This means it can get users very high very fast, which may not be a good idea for novice marijuana users.

  1. Hi Miro
    Great article, thanx
I would really love to add to what your saying.
Cannabis oil is what a herbalist would call–> an “Oil Infusion of Cannabis”. oh yes very powerful medicinal proprieties indeed and enhanced bio availability makes Oil Infusions of Cannabis very popular applications of medicinal cannabis therapy for regular daily and night time doses.

Hemp seed must be washed clean of all cannabinoils before it is cold pressed to extract the hemp seed oil. Its part of the regulations to produce Hemp Seed Oil. so when you buy it off the shelf oh your so right…. no THC,,,, and no CBD. Hemp seed oil has many health benefits but THC and CBD are not included. Hemp seed oil is 80% essential fatty acids, mostly Omega 3 and omega 6. Essential means we must eat it cause we can not produce it in our bodies. Essential fatty acids must come from our diet. Hemp seed oil is a must.

Hash Oil is the active ingredient in almost every form of medicinal cannabis therapy, excluding only cannabis root extracts and Hemp seed oil, Hash oil rules medicinal cannabis therapy
Hash oil is the concentrate of all the plants trichomes, The sticky stuff all over the surface of the buds
Hash oil contains over 400 different active medicines, THC and CBD are only 2 of over 90 different cannabinoids. We are not even half way through finding out what the rest of the cannabinoids do.
About 200 of the active ingredients in hash oil are trepenoids and flavonoids. Most are found throughout the plant kingdom so they are all well documented. We know all of the medicinal properties of the terpenes and flavonoids. except for 2 which are exclusive to cannabis called Cannaflavin A and Cannaflavin B.
the scientists say Hash oil is a–> “natural botanical extract of cannabis”
the herbalist say Hash oil is a —> cannabis concentrate.
