I just remembered that I was going to pick up a couple of these tugs anyway and use them to raise the plant closer to the lights because I could not figure out anything else to use that was not a fire hazard in there.
Sorry this has been moving kinda slow on my end. I ran a couple of tests with the cabinet and it seems like temperatures is what I am going to have a problem with.
86 Fahrenheit air temp
About 76 water temp.
Hmm, I am not going to have room around my res in this little cabinet to do anything like that.
So what is the lesser of two evils? Putting frozen water bottles in the res or trying to grow at 72 degrees?
What happens when the water is that warm?
So a frozen bottle of water in my gallon res is ok? Or should I try and get some of those tiny bottles of water to freeze? Or do I need to just run tests for that?
Ok Stumped I really do appreciate you getting me this far! I learned alot and it should be good enough to get me going. I just have one more shopping stop to make to get my ph up and down, buffering solution to calibrate my meters, Rockwool, Hydroton and the GH Flora 3 part series and then I...
Thanx for the info devilish!
Good call on the color of the res, I didn't even think about it absorbing the heat.
The cabinet has two fans on the back wall, one in and one out.
Would it still need another fan inside somehow?
Stumped suggested I use rockwool to grow in and it seems like that...
Thanx again Stumped. I think you said that frozen water bottles in the res water would bring the temp down pretty good right?
And you mentioned that you thought my little pots were too small. I think they were 2 inches across the top. What size do you think I should get?
The res that came...
Got my thermometers today, will test the cabinet soon.
So if I go 12/12 from the very start the dark has to be absolute just like if you flip to 12/12?
Ok well I have a shopping list that I am working on and the thermometer is on it so I can run a test and see how warm it is.
There aren't any more holes in the cabinet so if it is too warm I guess I will need to cut one in the top which will mean removing the mylar and putting it back after I...
