Blitty's Burkle Bubble Grow

yah with 6 weeks I would go ahead a pull it and just focus on the bubble ponics... You've already kinda made the choice since you changed the lighting. I would put it in a dark room for a week and it should mature a bit more. Unless you can make a room or closest into a temporary flower room. I think you have enough light to spare since the small plants don't need that much light right now and you would only need it for 2 weeks.. They looked like they were dense nugs for 6 weeks. after harvesting it, you can re-veg it then and get some clones

Hmmm....that is a very interesting idea. I am so used to chopping down plants for harvest, but since that plants so large and the buds are fairly meager, re-vegging makes total sense. I bet if I left that plant under 24 hours of light for 2 weeks after harvesting it, there would be like 20 solid clones.

Good lookin' CR5!! :thumb:

Thanks man, but yes you could get 20 clones, but not quickly, they grow differently sometimes when re-vegged. you wanna leaves as many leaves as possible when you do it. you'll have time to look into it more..

properly REvegged plant. you can see, only buds were cut.. .lol, duh

Blitty,

Everything is looking good so far! Nice ghetto rig of the reflector..you might want to get the cfls a little higher into the reflector if you can...the less distance it travels up to the reflector means the less distance it has to travel back down which means less lost lumens!!!

But I'm subscribed..should be a good grow!!

I have been contemplating my nutes situation. I have a lot of left overs, of the full line of Fox Farm nutes. I have read mixed reviews about using organics in Deep Water Culture though. I don't want to regret going that route.

Would you recommend that I get Floranova, Advanced Sensi/Connosieur, or GH nutes instead?

Also, Is it correct that I should only be using the nutes at 1/6 and a ph of 5.8 for these next few weeks in the early stages of clone growth? :peace:

Looks like your off to a great start! Also that plant you have entered in the "plant of the month" looks freakin great man!

I wanted to give my opinion on nutes. I have been using the full line of GH nutes. I had Flora Nova bloom and grow leftover from a soil grow so I went with the "keep it simple" plan. This is a link to the schedule, in addition to that I use Florablend 10ml per gallon from seedling through flower. I use the FloraNova section.

I have had no problems with this feeding schedule and my plant seems to love it. I went really aggressive during veg too with no harm to the plant.
I know there are more than enough nutes out there to choose from but, I will always use GH from now on.

Good luck with your grow! I'll be watching this one:popcorn:

Thanks for the info and for stopping by YD. I will definitely consider GH nutes. :yummy:

Finally I have been rewarded with some of the same root porn I have been seeing in other guys journals! :yahoo:

There is almost one root from each plant touching the water by now. I first started to notice some small roots a few days ago, so that means it took 5 days for growth outside of the pot. :grinjoint:

Thats the Super Skunk in soil on the right. I also have some unfortunate news to report, the ice cream didn't make it, she was weak from the beginning. RIP-

So....I took CR5's advice and stripped the large irregular Blueberry plant of her fruit. I am now attempting to re-veg her back in the 24 hour light cycle. I only left a few leaves on and I dont really have a good feeling that she will start growing again....we'll see. :smokin:

It has been 2 weeks since I started doing this bubble grow. Growth hasn't been as explosive as I thought it would be. I have to admit I miss the simplicity of soil.

I am currently using the Advanced nutrients grow, micro, bloom in a 1-1-1 cycle. My ph is around 5.8

There is a bout an inch of root growth per day. Is that normal for roots to grow much more rapidly at first and then the leaves will follow?
