I am currently setting up a 2x2 tent using CFL lights and planting having 4 pots at the moment. Each pot contains 5 CFL bulbs. Plants are now around 3 weeks old. I would like to get some tips on the ideal distance of the CFL lights and for how long i have to stick with CFL until i switch to the MARS HYDRO TS1000.

Most people's contain a plant ;).

Can't really give a generic answer to that. I've seen CFL bulbs from 9-watt to 250-watt. If I say, "An inch," and you have the larger ones, you'll probably kill your plants. However, if you're using 24-watt (or less) CFL bulbs, then keep them an inch above your plants. If they're 42-watt, an inch or two, I suppose. Remember to have a fan blowing across the plants.

You don't.
