Coca Coir/Perlite mix?

I was wondering if anyone had any good luck with coca coir? I use a chip based type for the snakes that I raise, but I was wondering if the shredded brick type would work well for the plants? I thought I read somewhere about mixing it with perlite, but I seem to come up empty on my search.

coco and a 30 to 40% perilite (for aeration) should work. I was told that the cheaper brick type coco blocks can cause PH problems. My lucks been minimal in coco, I come up with deficiencies.

Hi Guys, I grow in coco. I use Bonticare bale mixed with Sunleaves piece coir.
Then I add 25 to 30% perlite. The coco is well rinsed first. Much better than soil Imho.

coco retains alot of mineral salts and needs to be flushed alot or you will end up with PH problems, lockouts and deficiencies. old grower i know went from soil (cost) to coco and dropped that after 1 grow, now just using "the round clay ball things"... sorry im havin a mindfart right now and cant think of the name lol

Yes, I flush often with clearex and the plants luv it.
