First Hydro Grow - Sun System 8, Feliz 200w, DWC & Fogger

It will be so sad if all four of these plants are males. If so, it is off to the chopping block for not only the 4 plants but also the 12 cuttings :-(

What do you think? Am I right, are these male? Or should I just give it another day or two to be sure?

give it some time...but i think they're males also...but just to be sure, wait...you still have time....lavendar

all in all, the plants are gorgeous....all of them.:rollit:

Well, I had to brutally kill plants #1, #3 and #4 as they were all males. The good news is that little old plant #2 came out shining as a gorgeous female.

I cut a new hole in the lid of the water container to accommodate a single plant and then covered up the old holes with some shiny tape :)

Today I am off to pick up some Fox Farms Cha-Ching. If you have a look at the Fox Farms Hydro feeding chart you will see exactly where I am at in the Fox Farms process. only about 5 weeks left according to the chart. However keep in mind that these plants really began their life on January 1st. I only started using the Fox Farms nutes and schedule on February 5th. So the last remaining plant is actually 85 days old today.

The clones are doing ok. I forgot to mark which ones were from plant 2 so I continued on with only 4 clones after killing the known males, two taken from plant #2 and two from #3. I am just not sure which is which, but I figure I have a 50/50 chance of getting two girls :) I will just have to wait until they go in to the flower cycle to know which is which. Oh well, once I have that sorted out it will be all girls from there on out.

I will try to post pics of the clones later tonight but for now here are some photos of the last remaining mature plant....that beautiful girl! Oh yeah, I also started my SCROG so I have 10 nice main branches with some really nice offshoots filling in the empty space. Yes, I topped this plant at only 5 nodes high back when she was about 1-2 inches tall! She is still only about 7-8 inches tall at the highest leaf set. Remember, she was the runt of the group. Look for yourself.....

Let me know what you think.

Well today she is 96 days old. I took out the screen about a week ago as the plant was showing signs of stress. I ended up doing a little light bondage on the main 10 branches using paper clips instead. It seems to have worked much better as her stress cleared right up.

This Friday will start week 10 since I began the Fox Farms regiment. The water reservoir holds exactly 2 gallons of water to the fill line so I am mixing the nutes as follows:

Grow Big: 4 tsp/ 2gal
Tiger Bloom: 2 tsp/ 2 gal
Big Bloom: 2 Tbl/ 2 gal
Cha Ching: 1/2 tsp / 2 gal

She seems to like it just fine, although I have seen light areas of nutrient burn. With the light bondage in place the whole plant is only 6 inches in vertical height. It is amazing how many bud sites she has produced so far. With the 10 main branches having at least 5 pairs of side branches each I have counted more than 100 bud sites so far. Mmmmmmm, bud bush! You can easily see the 10 primary branches by looking along the outside ring of the plant in photo #2. All of the other growth comes from branches off those 10 primary branches.

A few more weeks and I think I will see some great production for such a tiny plant. All things considered the whole bonzai theme has worked out pretty well :)

One last note, I bought one of those OZN-Jr ozone generators to get rid of the flowering smell. I mounted it on the wall in my 20' x 20' garage near the grow cabinet. The box says it is good for 1000 cubic feet so I thought if anything I would have limited results in a large garage. Well, it got rid of all the smell just fine but I immediately (after only 12 hours) noticed ozone burn on some of the leaves on the plant. Needless to say, I discontinued the use of the ozone generator immediately thereafter.

Now on to the photos:

The first shots show the relative size of the plant to the cabinet. Keep in mind the cabinet is just roughly 24" W x 16" D with the reflective panels inside.

Very nice, that is one amazing looking plant. You have done such a great job spreading her out..... Very nice job....

She is 104 days old today (was 102 on photo day). I took these photos on 4/14/2010. The girl is growing along nicely. Trichomes are still all clear. Temp is averaging between 70-85 F. PH is steady at about 5.8. Not so much leaf growth lately but those buds are starting to fill in nicely. I cut off a small taster on photo day and was pleasantly surprised with a nice heady buzz and mild fruity flavor. I think it is still early to think about harvesting though. According to the FF nute schedule I have two full weeks left as of today.

Should I start using water only at some point or am I safe to use the FF nutes all the way until harvest? I would love some suggestions on this. Also, if anyone has any drying/curing suggestions they would be well appreciated.

On to the photos:

:yahoo: :bongrip: :yahoo:

So, as the time grows nearer I decided to have a little bit of fun with this. I went to my local head shop this afternoon and picked up a brand new Slyde Pollen Box along with a Cosmic Press. Remember all those times I was trimming leaves along the way? Well, you didn't think I would be dumb enough to just throw them away, right? Of course not. I've been saving them and tonight I used the Slyde Box to get me a little bit of hash from them.

I just threw in all the old trimmings and tossed them around in the box for a bit and next thing you know out popped a bunch of Keif. With a bunch of fresh new Keif on my hands I took out my handy dandy Cosmic Pollen Press and pressed up a nice sized Hash pellet. Once I had it in the press and I had turned the ends as hard as I could, I popped it in the oven on 325F for about 15 minutes. After that it was nice and warm so I tightened the ends of the press a bit more and then I threw it in the freezer for about 20 minutes.

After everything the total weight of the hash pellet and the little bit of remaining Keif was just under 2 grams. You can see some of the Keif as well as the finished product in the photos below. You can see two distinct colors in the finished pellet. This cam from mixing two different batches of weed.

Enjoy.....I know I did.
No, I mean I REALLY enjoyed it!

One more thing, in case anyone was wondering how close I am to harvest...I used my trusty USB Microscope to getter a better idea. I think we are getting pretty close....

Wow, what a change a couple of days can make. The plant has really darkened up. Almost all hairs are red now but most of the trichomes are still clear, although there are several amber ones starting to creap up.

So, I am not sure if I will see much more growth in the buds. Should I let them go just a bit longer or should I pull the plug and harvest now. I guess it's just a question of Quantity vs. Quality. I took a small sample and dried it in the icrowave last night....I was very pleased to say the least. Definately still a very heady buzz, it didn't make me tired at all. The flavor is light and fruity but I think that will only get better with the drying and curing process.

Here are today's pics...I took them about 30 minutes ago.
