Hi Friends

I'm about to start my first ever grow I'm Sooo excited about it...

I would not have made the plunge without 420 and alot of help and advice from
close friends...

I did alot of research into led systems to the point of brain fry
and determined alot of these either where from china/hongkong/usa
and all with a seperate power converter for europe and also alot in my
opinion are either to expensive and to cheap some poor quality
some not, anyways after alot of searching i found and actual uk supplier
thats cheap!. all in one units several options to upgrade select different
spectrums angles uv ect...[so with them in mind i bought these two I know I shivered abit when i seen
the total of £412.00 for my 90w/120w led's but I thought it's a long term
investment should last for years or longer...

At the moment I'm sourcing a uk clf lamp dealer to add into the mix...

120w LED Grow Light
Red led wavelength: 660nm optimal growth
New Sixth Generation R/R/B with 660nm
uv supplement add on
Light Angle: 120 degree

90w UFO Grow Light
uv supplement add on
New Sixth Generation R/R/B with 660nm
Light Angle: 90 degree
Red led wavelength: 660nm optimal growth

The 120w is for the 1200x1200x6ft Grow tent is a self contained growing

environment manufactured from 100% lightproof fabric with waterproof inner

lining. Quick and easy to assemble, lightproof, brilliant silver

interior.Adjustable intake and exhaust vents.
Military grade zips give full access to the crop.
Size:120CMx120CMx200CM(H)
Completely Light-tight, waterproof and air-tight material
Silver reflective inner lining
Velcro fasteners
Removable water-proof floor for spillages
Inlet/Outlet vents for fansTent mylar diamond backed.

The 90w is for a small clothes cuboard I have hijacked with a dodgy wooden door

but I intend to cover the doorjam with a rollable velcro cover for complete
darkness area size is 20"x34"x5ft painted the area bright white
installed a power extention 4 sockets should be enough. This Grow area is

intended to start another grow with some clones before I switch to flowering.

I will upload some Pictures soon of both areas.

My total cost for this lot was not cheap although I did alot of searching
for rock bottom prices and spent roughly £600.00 pounds/sterling...

I Could add another £50.00 I spent on seeds which never turned up. No REPLY to emails I have sent ect been over a month
now :(

Lamps £412.00 Tent £69.90
100MM 4" FAN, CARBON FILTER, DUCT &
CLIPS £59.99
And + £50.00 for ext leads,soil
temp/humidty checker ect...

The soil I got reccommended by an experienced grower
is John Innies No1 compost.

I just started two seeds i got free from my brother New York City crossed
with Diesel, Popped em in water for a while till they sunk, then put then in
some rockwool starting seed tray, in a pot with a little water covered in some
cling film...

So Thats as far as I have got.

bummer about the no-show with the seeds. Never heard of the Irish seedbank, but here's a list of reputable seedbanks that most people have luck with:

The Attitude Seedbank
Dr Chronic
Seed Boutique
Dope-Seeds

Best of luck to ya on your new grow; I know that initial investment's a real bitch, but if you consider the price to buy an oz of MJ these days, it won't take long for it to pay for itself (assuming you're successful):goodluck:

I guess that was an expensive lesson to learn :p.
I will try them and order small this time...

Thanks for support.

Dope Seeds seems to be the best ones for value if anyone has had a received order would they let me know?.

65 pounds for the tent is a good deal I guess but I got my 120 Watt LED for 165 USD on ebay (Buy-it-now price)
400 pounds is like 600 dollars, did you get more than one 120 watt and 90 watt?
I just found this for $186: LED 120W 120 Watts Hydroponic 7:1 :1 Plant Grow Light - eBay (item 170498211227 end time Sep-09-10 01:38 :21 PDT)
or this one for even less than mine:
NEW 120 Watts Quad Band LED Grow light 2 Watt Chip 159 159 179 - eBay (item 140446855229 end time Sep-03-10 20:laugh:31 PDT)

i believe ebay ships to UK and both have 660 nm

I bought one of each light, Theres basically lots of different types out there and I was tempted to go for the cheapest but I thought if there made in far off places they would be hard to repair with this supplier its not a great distance to go get a part or repair no need for me to buy any ac pin converters. Plus most of the ones on ebay at the time I searched
did not offer any optimizations ect with light angles uv light tribands quad bands ect...

Bit of an update

Watch'in Plants grow is like, Is akin to paint drying :p

Out of the two plants I potted I managed to snap one In half
how ever I replanted It In the same Pot completely severed
and it regained life "how tough the weed is" huh...

doing fine but the damaged one is kinda a RUNT now.

there still on rain water only going to introduce feed shortly,

I wish I had a Camera :)

Ok Day 45 finally got my hands on camera for a few hours not a very good camera either
but I guess the quality ain't so bad.

My Closet is gonna serve as my Clone Space I intend to add more bulbs.

Should they be bigger? after 45 days. Bear in mind they was under normal bulbs
for first few weeks till I could get my hands on some 23watt cfls.

Thats it for now.

looking good. when do you plan of flowering?

Going to grow them for another 6-8 weeks SnowBender
To Flower im going to use a mix of these 23watt clfs and
the 120w LED system I bought "when it gets delivered is
another story" lol almost 3 months there excuse is inundated
with orders and production line woes :(...

To be honest I have no clue as too flowering times I got these
seeds free they was called newyorkcity diesel...
nothing worse than watching plants grow takes ages :(

An investment of $80 (roughly 50gbp) could get you a 150w enclosed ballast hps system that would dramaticly increase your yield. Extremely easy to use and not much heat.

I would seriously consider it as I have tried to flower with cfls in the past with disappointing results.

Hey Wreathy, you are off to a great start! A little tip on light cycles though. Going from 18/6 to 12/12 then back to 18/6 is VERY confusing for your ladies. Chances are when you switch back to 18/6 that you are going to end up with hermies. Your plants are going to think the flowering season is over and make a last big effort to reproduce. I would highly recommend you don't do this. And I don't know if yours was a typo, but the common light cycles are 24/0, 18/6, and 12/12. I believe I read somewhere that 16/8 actually originated from a typo.

I hope this info helps you out, cuz I would hate to see you lose those ladies to a dirty hermie!!

:goodluck:

ok im going bed soon so im gonna go from 12/12 to 18/6 but do it by one hour less per day so 4 more days should take me back to 18/6.. Am ?I right?.
