Flush finished - In the dark before harvest?

I have 4 plants - all 80% sativa dominanth, grown outdoors in mallorca spain, humidity usually around 70-75%. I have just completed a 2 week flush this morning, and waiting for the pots to dry out a little in the sun After a few rainy days. I've got a drying room set up in the garage which is holding around 70% humidity and 72 degrees temp so I'm putting a dehumidifier in there for a couple of days to bring that down while the plants dry out a bit.
The garage has a roller door and is light tight when closed - no windows.
I've read on the forums that it can be beneficial to put the plants into total darkness before harvesting for say 48 hrs so I'm considering that.
What are your thoughts on this?
I've got string up in readiness, waiting for boveda and humidity reader to be delivered by amazon so while I'm in a waiting thought I'd see what the best advice is before actually harvesting ( trichomes are looking good under a pocket microscope)
I'm also going to do the 420 bud wash before hanging up to dry
Have I missed anything crucial?

I'm a growing Virgin and this is my first crop so want 2 make sure I don't fuck up !

it depends how ripe your plants are. But too be honest with the high humidity id just get them down before it starts to rot mate. i am in spain also and humity was 85-90% this week. dont risk losing your crop to bud rot. get them in the garage with the dehumidfier.

I have done the 48 hours of dark prior to harvest a number of times. The plants come out of dark looking like they are varnished. I don't think, though, that it did anything for the taste or potency.
