Does anyone use a build in window or glass to view their basement indoor grow, so as not to open up the area and release co2 and effect temp and humidity?

You would have to be able to cover the window during dark periods with a blanket or some type of lightproof cover. You need total darkness for your dark period, light leaks lead to problems.

Buy a cheap webcam.
Make sure if you buy a webcam, it does not have IR emitter's because these will interfere with your dark cycle.
