Green Mountain Girl's 1st Grow

Hello all green thumbers out there,
My name is Angela and this is my first time growing. I am starting out with 3 strains and all are feminized from CKS, white widow, crown royal and northern lights auto.

Here’s what my set up is looking like so far.

Veg. Tent - 4x4 Mylar ipower tent with a 600W full spectrum led reflector series with humidifier, space heater and two small clip fans and Vivosun air filtration kit 4in 203 CFM in-line fan w carbon filter

Flower tent - 5x5 ipower Mylar tent with King LED 1500 W double chip full spectrum flowering light. With same 4in fan and air filtration kit as veg.

Medium is soil- Pro mix all purpose
Nutes- Fox farm liquid trio soil formula

I have vivosun fabric pots I will be using for final pots 10g, 3gals and 7 gals.

Measuring Ph with a digital probe

So far here’s what’s been happening in the first two weeks since putting my 9 seeds into soil fiber seed starters....

11/12/18 - 6 white widows and 3 crown royals were planted and 18/6 for light cycle.

All but one seed germinated and popped 3-4 days later. By day 6-7 I came into my tent and 5 of my white widows had damped off and were hanging drooped over.
Day 8 - I lost my 6th white widow and one of my crown royal seedling. Leaving me with only 2 crown royal left.

I immediately up potted the two survivors into jiffy pots with soil. Raised them up to the light (within 3ft or light) and worked out my issues with temps and humidity. I also hooked up my air filtration kit to get more air circulation as I felt like that could be causing problems.

11/20 - I purchased some northern light autoflowers to try out and they came in so I put 4 right into jiffy pots filled with my all purpose soil. I also threw down 2 more CR seeds.

Heat staying between 70-80 and RH 60-65%
Water is Luke warm and ph 6-6.5. The run off is coming in at 6.1

I am going to attach the last few weeks of pictures. Any help with this grow would be great since I’ve already lost so many seeds I am devistated.

Garden update. We are on day 14 for our one surviving plant from my first attempt and she is looking good and happy. Second and third set of leaves are starting to grow quickly. The northern light autos are looking great too and are off to a good start.they seem to be loving the light! I put some tooth picks in being on the cautious side of things now. They are on day six.

All the girls were still very saturated from the water the day before so they didn’t get anything today just some adoration and praise.

I still have this one little runt I’m refusing to give up just yet. She’s staying up right but barely grown in a week. First set of leaves are still green while the second set have been praying . I pulled them back from one another today to try and expose the top of the plant to the light to see if I can get her to grow... sigh. We shall see. I hope all is well in everyone’s gardens this rainy november day.

I also just got this new Bluetooth thermometer and hydrometer, Govee. I can now track my levels from my phone and it will save and store all my data. I’m living it so far but look at it far too often. this is why I refuse to set up a camera in there. I’ll watch more than I watched my new born son.

Daaaay 15 here for my lone survivor and day 8 for the other girls ( my northern lights auto and 2 CR) Not much growing on in the garden. But hey my newest seedlings have already survived 3 days longer than my first so, there’s always a silver lining! The girls were wicked dry and their jiffy pots stiff when I checked in on them tonight, so they got some water before lights out. Hoping that the roots enjoy their little nap.

I’m posting some picture of them again tonight one of the pictures is of my set up. I forgot I hadnt posted that yet.

Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions! Happy gardening from a snowy VT!

Not much to update today about the garden. We are still going strong and steady in all departments. I took a couple of pictures at lights out tonight, so I will post them. The pots are pretty dry but their bottoms were still damp so I held off watering them and will check again in the morning and make sure they aren’t unhappy with that decision. I hope all is well out their in your gardens!

Happy Friday!
I spent my morning wake and bake down with the garden. As suspected they were bone dry, so everyone got a drink. All the girls look green and happy. Standing nice, firm and strong. I think that maybe these northern light babies will surpass my lone surviving crown royal that’s over a week ahead of them before long. Attached my daily photo of them. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Hello and a happy Monday to you all! I hope your weekends were nice and relaxing. Mine was spent half in my bed fighting off a cold and the other half decorating the house for Christmas with my wife and kids.

The girls are moving right along. They were watered this morning. Water Ph’d at 6.8. They needed a good dousing and seem to love their watering days. My temps and humidity are staying very consistent but with colder temps here in the north east I’ve had to run the humidifier quite I bit.

After doing some reading both on here and through google, I decided to purchase some more leds for my garden as a Christmas gift to myself and especially because cyber shopping has been great for getting good deals! So mama got her leds and the kids got their presents too, win win. The lights I purchased were both under $100! They are both vander life brand, one is 1000w for my 4x4 veg tent to pair with my 600w. The other is a 2000w to go into my 5x5 flower tent to pair with the 1200w I have in there. This I am hoping with give me a wall to wall spread of light in both tents to help the girls get all the love, light and support they need during all the stages of their life.

I included pictures from this morning after I finished watering. I took pictures with the lights on and off and of course had to share a picture of our Christmas tree!

Happy gardening to you all! ❤️

I am also the happy owner of a Vander LIfe 1000w light, and planning on buying 2 more 2000w units... all at a very cheap price and cheaper when you buy in quantity!

Awesome! Happy holidays to us! Ha! I’m looking forward to getting them soon from amazon. I did a lot of comparing to other brands that were more expensive and higher end but these look like they will get me a great bang for my buck. I’m excited to see how they preform.

I was very skeptical at that rock bottom price, but the unit was exactly what they said it was. It has a great heat sink for the array, solid metal enclosed power supplies, good fans inside another metal enclosure, good safety certs... Figured it was worth a chance. Now seeing the little unit I am anxious to get the 2 big ones ordered before the price goes up!
I have had the 1000w in place for 4 days now and am seeing very aggressive growth at 15" from my young plants. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Happy Friday everyone! I’m sorry I’ve been quiet on here this week. I took a nasty fall and bruised my tailbone, which has had be laid up most of this week. Taking a fall as an adult is not as easy as it was when I was a kid!

Things are still going green in the garden. It was time for them to be put into larger pots so I had to use the smallest fabric bags I had.

So, the three crowns went into 5 gallon pots and all of the northern light autos went into 3 gallon pots. After that was done I also hooked up my second led light from Vander life that I just got in the mail this week. It’s a 1000w full spectrum led it didn’t have a veg and or bloom toggle switch like my 600w does so it’s going all balls right now. To which the girls seem to be loving.

I hope you all had a great week in your life and gardens. Have a great weekend everyone!

P.s. I’m not sure when I should start these girls on some food. I have the fox farm trio. I have one girl 4 weeks and the others are heading into their 3rd. Non seem to be showing signs of droop, curl or discoloration but I do think they are growing on the slow side compared to some I have seen at the same stages.

I’m noticing some droop and some curl on a few of these girls and not sure what’s going on there. Maybe from the transplant earlier this week. They are all still a bit damp. There’s one that is dry and could use some water tonight but that’s about it. I ordered some cal-mag and will be getting that today in the mail. Should I start a light feeding next water? Or is this just typical and I should leave them be? I don’t want to rush them but I don’t want it to go somewhere I can’t come back from either.

giving calmag is good at every watering, right up to 2 weeks until the end. I would start watering correctly as soon as you can in that large container now, and see what happens. You rushed that transplant and that is why you are seeing a bit of shock (slowdown} but they will recover soon. Best not to do so many things at once. You can move so much faster than your plants, but should you? Nutes are for strong plants with established and strong roots... again, don't rush things. Also note those burnt tips on your leaves... that is over nute... even without giving anything yet. Your soil is that strong.

Thank you! I did not know that about cal-mag but had been reading a lot of journals that other growers were adding it early on and I didn’t have any ordered at all! Everything I had read had said not to touch them for at least three weeks...

There are only two that are ready for some water so I’ll give them some tonight. My lone survivor seems to be at a complete stand still and so I’m thinking she’s stunted bc she’s at week 4 and I haven’t given her anything at all but water.

I’ll keep my eye on them and thank you for taking the time to check up on my little garden :)

it is so much easier to correctly water these weeds and establish a wet/dry cycle, in smaller containers. As soon as you put a small plant in a large container you lose a lot of control as to how your roots are growing. Next time try going from solo cup to 1 gal, to 3-5 gal, to 10 or 15 gal. Doing this correctly will give you much more rapid growth and a much stronger product at the end.

I am definitely going to go the solo cup route on the next run. I have to order some smaller gallon pots for next round as well since I wasn’t prepared for it this time and I ended up having to go larger than I would have wanted. :( This has made pinning down a watering schedule difficult like you had said. Cal-mag will be ended to my reg watering now and I won’t push the Nutes on them just yet and we shall see where they go in the coming weeks. Thank you about again for your help.
