Hi Everyone,

I am a new member, although I used this site a while back as a guild line for growing Cannabis. I am now starting a legit grow, and I would like to document it this time around.

Here is my setup

4x4 Sunstream growtent
Vivosun 600w MH/HPS with batt wing
Vivosun 6” exhaust
2 Vivosun oscillating clip fans

I have the girls started in solo cups with 80% fox farm happy frog and the top inch seed starting soil. I will then move them up to 1 gallon pots mixed 50/50 with happy frog and kryptonite, and then again to 5 gallon pots. I may supplement later on with General Organics.

I may buy a duct booster fan for intake if I end up needing one, but for now I’m just going to use the mesh intakes at the bottom of the tent.

I have the MH sitting 35” above soil. Today was the first day I turned it on. I plan on turning it off before I go to bed around 11 at night, and I’ll turn it back on at 6am when I get up. I have a timer but I didn’t bother programming it today. When I turn the lights off I’ll turn the heat on which is isolated to that room. Temps are around 84 with humidity at around 30.

And last but not least the strains.
1 purple train wreck - Humboldt seeds
2 critical orange punch - Dutch Passions
1 zkittlez given as freebie with purchase

I’m sure I’m forgetting something but I’ll add what I need to tomorrow. Thanks! And stay tuned!

Welcome to 420..... Looks like you have things well set up. Will have to peek in on your grow every now and then.

The girls are three days old today. Temps are the same. I feel like they are stretching too much. I moved my light to 28” early morning today and they still stretched. So I just moved my light to 25” and will leave it on for another hour or two. They are getting about 8 hours of darkness where the temp drops to about 76. Anyone watching is more than welcome to chime in and let me know if 25” is too close to seedlings. Any recommendations are appreciated!

The girls are 6 days old today. I decided to buy some second hand flourescent tube lights. I bought 4 double tube commercial fixtures for $40. I went out and also got two Sylvania GroLux 48” 40 watt bulbs designed for plants and aquariums. I’ve decided I’m going to run the flourescents until the plants take up a decent amount of the tent, and as I add more of the lights I’ll go and get more bulbs. When they are ready I’ll reintroduce the HID. Temps are better now as well, staying in the mid 70’s. I believe this will help with the stretch.

11 days after seed planting. The 3 healthier girls are stretched a little more than I would like, but I think they will be ok in the end. The stunted Purple Trainwreck May be starting to catch up a little bit. I am watering with a little bit of promix root booster every day to day and a half. The soil is drying out fairly quickly from the fan blowing over the girls. I have bumped the heat up to 80F for better growth promotion. Humidity seems to fluctuate from 35-45. If I could get it up to 65-70 I would be happy. I leave a wet towel in the tent on the floor but it’s dry in a day or two and it doesn’t seem to help much.

15 days of age. They are coming along. I think purple trainwreck will always be a little smaller than the others. I’m gonna take extra care with her though. I’ll up pot her a few days before the others and go a little easier on the toping and lst, hoping she catches up fully. Temps are still at 80 and 40% humidity. The light is about 1/2 inch from the 3 big girls and an inch from trainwreck hoping she stretches. I’m going to go to the hydro store and get some mycorrhizae for when I transplant. I might also dust some on top of the soil for trainwreck or mix some with water a couple times before I transplant. Not sure if this will help with her taking off but I figure it’s worth a shot.

Woke up this morning to find purple trainwreck not too healthy

I’m pretty sure it’s light stress. Even thought the other girls are less than an inch away from the light and this little girl was sitting around an inch and a half away.

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

On a more positive note the other three and doing great!

22 days old. I transplanted purple trainwreck last night. It was definitely early but I’m hoping she gets a growth spurt and catches up. I know It’s a no no rushing Mother Nature, but I figure I got nothing to loose.

I filled the 1.5 gallon pot 1/3 with kryptonite super soil. I then filled the rest of the pot around the sides with 50/50 kryptonite and fox farm happy frog. In the center I used just happy frog a little less than 1 inch around the seedling and underneath it. I mixed in perilite to about 20%. I also mixed mycorrhizae and Dr. Marijane root probiotic In all the soil before transplant, and lined the edges and bottom with mycorrhizae. When I went to transplant a lot of the soil around the seedling fell apart. I had let the soil dry out, but what I hate about fox farm is it has a lot of bark and twigs and bulky substance that seems to not stick together. I try to sort it out but I guess I missed a lot when planting the seeds.

I thought that the seedling might not do too well but as if this evening she’s looking good!

I have the soil mixed up with the mycorrhizae and Dr. Marijane and sitting for 48 hours for the other 3 girls to transplant tomorrow night. I had topped them two night ago and seem to be doing well
