Hannabis Cannabis - DWC - LED - 1st Run - Picture Intensive

Whoa there are so many different ways being thrown at you!

DWC or any hydro at that you want the pH between 5.5 and 6.5. 5.8 is normally the magic number but every strain is different. Something that might make your life easier with changing the water is a little fish pump. Put it in the res and turn it on when ever you need to drain. Ehh the more molasses the better I always say, just make sure to let sit and mix for a while before you start messing with the pH. It will jump over night even after pH balancing. Also taking pictures of the roots, shocks the plants. Any light on the roots damages them. Any light and I mean ANY light to that water changes the pH balance. The water also goes bad. Most likely reason for the random burning and pH imbalance.

I too grow hydro, just in coco not DWC. I'm subbed and along for this great ride :) I love the set up, you're going to be yielding massive amounts of flowers :)

Check out my logs if you get a chance, full of pictures and tons of budporn as well :)

Much love and respect man! Best of vibes sent your way

I'll go back to what we were all saying earlier in the thread. Water only for almost a full 2 weeks. I hope your brewing that massive mix of yours for sometime in the future. If your new to DWC slow down. I only grow in 5 gallon DWC buckets. Learning the water you have coming out of the tap is the hardest part of DWC. Once you can ph water fast and easy things will start growing smooth. Lots of people brew stuff, some people like the hiesenburg tea, I use AN ancient earth it seems to buffer my hard water if I mix it in first. Its pretty much just humic acids so it already starts bring the PH down for you. I stress to you to go slow on adding stuff to your water, plants in DWC respond fast to any damaging things that end up in the mix, and to much of a good thing is damaging.

I just didn't want to deal with bad bacteria/slime. I thought brewing a tiny bit of heisenberg tea would prevent that and possibly even stimulate root growth.
Is there a reason why there's only a string or two of super long roots coming down out of the net into the res and expanding and branching in the res? I fear that it's going to get so bottom heavy and rip off or something..

I'll call this a test brew and dump it out and brew it again after another 2 week has passed or even a couple more weeks when it goes into flower. I didn't really see how a little bennie tea could hurt the plant more than help it..

I'm also guessing that I shouldn't top/fim or LST my healthiest plant right now? the 7 finger leaves just opened up on to the 4th node now.

1 long root is fine soon there will be more than you can count, if you look at my thread you will see 2 foot+ long roots, some look like ropes. My earlier shots of roots they were just tiny white strings but they always fill out and get fat in DWC its not IF but WHEN. You really only need hydrogaurd if all you want is to keep the water clean.

If I mix hydroguard in water, put some mollasses and bubble it, would it create more hydroguard? thing is expensive...

No. Your plants are so young just use less than the minimum dose for a week or 2.

I was just asking if I could be making my own hydroguard with the same method as brewing a tea, for future reference.

For 5 main tops, but you can go more if you'd like. I usually top my seeds around 10 or 12. The more nodes you have when you top the more tops will grow.

Sorry, I didn't fully understand what this means.
if I top, I will end up with 2 main stem. Are you saying if I top later(10th or 12th node) I may end up with more tops? I thought topping usually yield 2 main branch and fim usually gets you 4 and all it does is split the main branch to allow more light to access a more even canopy of bud instead of a christmas tree shape.

Topping when the seedling only has 2 branches ends up with 2 tops. The more you have when you top it the more branches all come to the top :) Big bush instead of small bush.

That help? :)

The light is too close if the leaves are curling up. If you top late you'll end up with plants lookin like this

Once the top is cut every branch that is pre-existing on the plant becomes a top :)

Hope that helps

I'm guessing these are some sort of nute deficiency causing the leaves to yellow a bit. some of the lower leaves have their serrated edges, not the tip, to brown a bit.

alot of them are yellow or pale green. I'm sure these are supposed to be darker green to indicate that they're healthy. Btw, one of the plant that had a major shock with broken roots are recovering nicely, I'm starting to see new growth both above and below.
