Solo Cup to 1 gal Air Pot

Bill284 Method

Northern Lights 4/28

@Herbies Seeds

Cover root ball with fresh perlite

20220711_161814.jpg

Keep layering soil perlite
Bokashi Frass & @DYNOMYCO

20220711_162251.jpg

Fill the top with perlite

20220711_162314.jpg

The perlite will let water drain
down the outside edge for proper root growth

20220711_162400.jpg

Center mound forces water to the outside edge

20220711_162415.jpg

Cover with perlite

20220711_162436.jpg

Thin layer of dirt on top holds everything in place

20220711_162516.jpg

Don't be afraid to reform your mound and moat
around the outside edge
When you water at first it may shift

Do I use this method with the Coco, same layers ect as I've got Coco premix, I started a new thread about Coco first time grow, I appreciate you help to you are the first to help me with this stuff cheers Bill

Hey Bill :ciao:

Have you ever considered pre-pH-ing the water, before any nutes?
So if I know my final mix will be made up of xyz then a known quantity of phd, I can add that first
The idea is that adding concentrated Phosphoric to a mix binds some of the nutrients
So it's like using rain/river water to begin with because the water is already softer
Can you see reason in that?

Morning Roy :ciao:
It's always my last step, set ph .
Never pre ph'd but I see your logic.
And it doesn't work if the nutrients are in first?

I was reading something recently that said Phosphoric acid can react with Ca, Fe & Zn
So adding it first should be better in theory, because until it dissolves, it is corrosive
Probbly stoner thinking

If I had my shite tight I could probably do it.
My mixture effects the ph.:morenutes:
It's different each time.
I'd have to know the ph of each mixture ahead of time.
I'm just not that organized. ;)
Thanks :thanks:

Ah ok - my mix is pretty stable 5.8-6.0, only needs further adjusting on the rare occasions I add Potassium Silicate

Do you give the potassium silicate time to bond before adding nutrients?
A couple hours?

I don't often use it, but yeah, I leave it in a bucket overnight then bring the pH down before adding nutes
