I know that cannabis ages and loses some of it's THC over time. My question is; if I stored cannabis in a dark cool place inside mason jars, how long before the potency starts to decline?
How long before stored cannabis loses its freshness?

i am thinkin there is some actual science on that topic,, out there,, some real facts
but as @Pennywise said,, the proper cure takes a few months, and if done properly will only enhance the affects

There is real science and it says when cannabis is stored properly I can be good for decades if stored right. Thc degrades over time but it is very slowly if not exposed to light and heat.
I’m not sure how long it takes to degrade. I’ve had bud in jars for up to a year or so. It does change over time but still packs a kick.
They found a grave in China that had a burial shroud of cannabis flowers the farmer grew before dying and it was over 2.5 thousand years and still had Thc in the flowers and seeds that were recognizable as ganja.
That is supposedly the area where cannabis first appeared.
The best part of the cannabis burial shroud from china story is the man in the grave the farmer was Irish!
a lot of research point to it coming from russia through mongolia and kazakhstan in to china.
they don't really know if it came from china to russia or, from russia to china. in russia it it is more a ruderalis / hemp, by the time your in to china, it gains thc and some other components.

genetic tracing would probably back you on that. greater physical barriers exist for it to have gone through kazakhstan, and the plant found there is less related to what is found in either russia or mongolia.
