Hey everyone, im gonna show you how we make butter with our instant pot!
The weed is just about decarbed, so there will be follow up pictures shortly!

Step 1. WEED.
Tonight were using a mixture of 2 different strains, also is a mixture of trim and bud.
The 2 strains are Godbud and Granddaddy Purp.
A little over 1oz, about 32 grams so were using just a little over 1cup of butter.

I am decarbing this at 225 for about an hour and a half.

Step 4.
Add 1/2 water to the insant pot.
Place masonjar inside, make sure its sealed tightly.
Wrap the masonjar in a wet handtowel, just incase if it moved around or anything the jar doesnt break somehow.

Put setting onto MANUAL, 30 Minutes.
Make sure vent is in the closed position.
Now go smoke one, you got a half hour to kill.

**you want to let it release on its own until it beeps, takes about 15 or so minutes. And then do the manual release.

If you put your weed in jars, add some water to the instant pot, Set instant pot to canning, It will do the decarb with no smell.

Normally we do decarb in insant pot, we have the last few times, I just wanted to go back to the oven to see the difference in quality etc.

Step 5 continued.
Put cheese cloth overtop of the jar, put the ring back on. careful.. shes warm.
Get your bowl or whatever youd like to use, under neath and pour out everything you can, giving a few shakes etc.
Once it has stopped draining, empty out into cheese cloth and squeeze the rest of the goodies out with your hands.
End result!

You can bake with this right now if you wish, but we will be placing ours in the fridge overnight to bake with tomorrow!
Cheers everyone.

Note:
I was given a "Infuzium 420" to make butter, tincture, and oil, a couple days ago and havent used it yet.
So the idea behind tonights butter, is because we will be doing a comparison in the next few days with this new to us machine compared to what we produce out of the insant pot.
Should be interesting, and I will probably start a new thread on it when the time comes.
Cheers!

this is what I use . ( nee Magic butter machine ) hahaha
I cant remember if decarb necessary For my MJ machine? If it is I use that green decarb box that they sell with it cause the ardent is too small hahaha

clarify your UNSALTED butter before you dump it in the machine , ’ ghee ‘ For a beautiful end product ...use measured molds i do tablespoons ( for coffee ) , and 1/2 cups for cookies .

ive never gone wrong with 100 grams to 3 pounds of clarified unsalted butter . Rookies and seasoned users have been satisfied. ;). Happy cooking !

Well I took a quick glance at the manual, and if I read correctly it takes about 2 hours in this machine.
My insant pot can do it in about 45minutes.
So were gonna see how different the quality is, with the time and machine comparison and see which is the better route from now on, a little experiment I guess.
Once weve completed that, maybe wel do a batch of the old school way, and compare that.
I could also really speed things up and decarb in the insant pot, half hour pressure, 15minute release.
But I do think the oven works better in the decarb department.

And wow, thats quite the batch!
Is that how much you can fit in at once? Or do you do a few runs?

I can see from your pictures that ghee and the bags provided with the machine make a better end product that what I see there ? but to each their own !!
You would get identical results with an IP if you used a smaller mesh bag vs. Cheesecloth and clarified butter. Weed is weed .. it’s all about your starting product :)

I can post some pics of my frozen stash later ..it’s a consistent light green end product , but off to the doc for a checkup on the leg first ... have a great day !!! :)

Ohh and my usual run is 3 pounds butter per 100 g maybe two times a year . Just seems to be the best strength for the weed I grow... no complaints .
the machine can make more for sure but minimum 2 cups I think ... there is a min/max fill line :)

Is this step done BEFORE the butter step?? So add weed to empty jar, add water set instapot to "canning" for decarb then take out and do the above for budder??

This is going to be good..... my wife is an intapot guru. She's been cooking almost everything we eat in there even makes dog food with it. Almost edible for me too... lol
I gotta pass on the chicken bone thing she makes for the dogs but they sure love it.

yes, you need the decarb done first. with the instapot it decarbs it moist. Oven dries the weed. I did it in the power pressure cooker xl which should be very similar to instapot. put weed in mason jars with lids. then set them on a towel in instapot. add water to instapot so it builds steam. I have done both methods and once done, to me it's no difference in potency that I could tell.

Heres the finished product.
Sat in fridge overnight.

The insant pot is great if your really trying to produce butter quickly, have used it many many times to make butter. And cleaning is super easy considering all the mess is inside the jar.
The only thing inside the pot (instantpot) is water.
Cant wait to try the Infuzium 420 though.
