Nov 22, 2014 #7 Fuzzy Duck Well-Known Member Was the HPS ballast still plugged into the hood/reflector ? That would mess up a cfl pretty quickly... HPS/MH are a different voltage from mains electric that is why we have ballast to convert the current. CFL have an in built ballast plug in and play.
