Mold near roots in coco?

Hi everyone,

I just finished a big defoliation after my pineapple kush has been in flower for 2 weeks and when I was inspecting things I noticed some mold looking stuff in the holes that I drilled in my bucket.

I grow in coco, water / feed once per day 1/4 strength with Biothrive organic nutes with procal supplement. Ph range 5.8-5.95

I do not see the same mold looking stuff on my second bucket in same tent.
Pictures are not the best but any help or advise is appreciated.

Is it normal with coco? Or something I need to be concerned about? I’ve read about h2o2 but I am not a very experienced grower.

I'v never personally seen mold growing in coco
But i have a drier environment than some do as well
What are RH values like?

Bio thrive probably has trace minerals, microbes & mycos is that correct?

If so then the white fuzz or mold on holes is just an indication that the microbes, mycos and minerals have been activated in the rootzone or top of soil. I’ve also heard it said white fuzz is good while dark fuzz is not. On soil grows the white fuzz on top of soil or in bucket holes is considered a very good sign of a living organic soil.

Thanks for the reply’s. I find that the RH levels are a bit high. Sometimes up to 80% after a water. I have fans going but still doesn’t get too low. I was hoping for closer to 60% right now. It’s been very very hot and humid outside for the past week or 2 so it’s also been making it tough to control.

As buds form more I will use my dehumidifier, it’s just not hooked up yet.

I am not sure about the trace microbes and mycos I will check on the labels tomorrow. The top of the coco looks great and the plant looks great.

It is white fuzz so I’m glad to hear that it’s not something that I need to be overly worried about just yet.

Just Google mold and you will see there are very beneficial bacteria in the soil if things are going smoothly but there is some telltale signs if it's not

Oh shit - my bad I confused..... BioThrive by GH with another product called Bio Live. Anyway bet the fuzz is just good microbes. And yes it looks good!

Thanks everyone, makes me feel much better. I’ve put so much time, and love into these girls I would have hated to see it go like that. First time in coco so everything is new to me. Biothrive by GH is what I’m using. I might try something else next grow but for now it seems to work.
I’m learning so much and now I know some fuzz is good fuzz. I can’t wait to be able to share my knowledge with others!
