My Closet Grow

Started this 5 weeks ago but I can fill in the blanks here from my notes.

Strain - Cookies ( OG Kush and Durban poison, no cherry pie)
# of Plants - 6/5/4 left
Grow Type - EcoGrower drip system
Grow Stage - week 5 of veg
Setup - Drip
Light - 250 Watt HPS/HID
Nutrients - General Organics/Flora Nova
Medium - Little clay balls
Room Temperature -76 to 82
Solution Temperature -70 to 72/68-70 (changed at week 5)
Room Square Footage - 7
Pests - None Known
Pathogen- Pythium discovered at week 4.

Week 1-2

Picked up 7 clones. They were just rooting. Started them off with General Organics and fed according to the chart. 1 never took off so it got rotated out at the end of week 2 and #7 came in.

Week 3

Growth looks good as well as color. Have noticed the root tips are burning off. Not sure what is going on. Also noticed a stench starting to brew up. I attributed this to the organics as they are alive. Organics in a hydro was a new experiment.

Week 4

My second smallest plant stopped growing. The dark green faded into a pale lime green. Then dropped a few days later. I took the root system apart and noticed that the roots were no longer attached to the plant. 3 days later my best plant wilted in 12 hours completely. Holy shit. Time to figure this out.

Mid week 4

Threw it out to the 420 crowd and discovered Pythium. The forum was right on.

Cleaned out the system and put in fresh water. Took all the pots out and rinsed them as good as possible in fresh water. Hit the hydro store in the morning and got some Hygrozyme.

Added 8 ML per gallon of Hygrozyme and ran for 2 days.

Added 4 ML per gallon of Hygrozyme and Flora Nova in a light mix. 3ml grow 3 ml micro and 1.5ml bloom and ran for 2 days.

Added 3 ML per gallon of Hygrozyme (now at the 15ml max) and Flora Nova in a light mix. 3ml grow 3 ml micro and 1.5ml bloom and ran for 2 days.

Flushed and cleaned and filled back up with Flora Nova 6ml grow 6 ml micro and 1.5ml bloom. In 2 days I will double the nutes. Changed to 12/12 with the HID light. I will switch to the HPS after 1 week. Trying to cut down on the stretch with this light theory.

These are from week 2 through 5. The wilted one was from Pythium at week 4. Looks like we escaped the bullet as the other 4 have major new white roots. I love Hygrozyme.

Just starting week 3 of 12/12.

Last week i added 5ml of florabloom to the solution at the beginning of week 2. This brought the mix to 1to1to1

Flushed out at the end of week 2. Flowers showing.

New mix at 1-2-3 (grow-micro-bloom)

Half way through week 3. They are doing their thing now. This strain (OG+Durban) is really doing well indoors. The stretch is not out of control which is nice in a 6' closet with 20" taken up by the hydro tank. I also did a much better job of tying her down to create an even canopy with a foot of growth to go. Been stripping leaves a couple times a week so I can get some growth down below.

My last grow I picked the top halves and let the bottom go 3 more weeks. I feel this was a waste of time. It was inferior smoke. This time I am cutting all the lower growth off to direct the energy and good vibes where they are needed.

I must say that I am very happy with the progress of this grow.

I worry that my light is not intense enough. I added side panels this week to re direct some of the lost light.

Seems like I keep trimming leaves for light penetration and a few days later the gaps are filled again with new leaves. I am going to just let them go now as my canopy is very uniform and the tops should rise above the rest of the growth.

Same nutes 1,2,3 flora grow, micro, bloom 90,60,30Ml per gal. Changing fluid every 2 weeks but adding fresh every 3 days.

I am also going to start a bud enhancer this week, like today . GH Kool bloom.

do you not what your humidity is like the best way to avoid mold is to keep your humidity below 50%

Humidity gets up to 80 but then back down in to the mid 40's. Although I do notice some moisture on my leaves that are touching I have no hint of mold. I have been defoliating for light penetration as well as to decrease humidity. I have a bit more to go before the buds swell much more. I am 3 1/2 weeks in. I will post new pics this weekend.

hey man when your buds get bigger i would reall try to keep your humidity down. I had a bad experience with mold before
I was examining a big bud to have it fall apart and the middle was just grey mush.
making sure you have plenty fresh air exchange in the room and you should be fine.

All is well on April Fools day. Wish I had better control over humidity. Airflow is my only weapon.

Things are going well. I am concerned about the darkness of my leaves, very dark green.

I have decided to drop my nutes for a bit. Don't have a ppm/ec meter.

Nutes for the week are as follows.

1-2-4 Flora gro,micro and bloom. 1.5 ml per gallon of gro, 3.0 ml per gal of micro and 6.0 ml per gal of bloom. 50% of where the plan was taking me. I will up it after 3-6 days after evaluation of leaf color.

Always open for comments from the wide experience of 420 fans.

I am a bit disappointed with the bud size here. We are now 5 weeks into 12/12. I flipped over my other grow in the greenhouse the same weekend but what a difference. The hairs on these have already dried up and changed color. Hoping they bust out some more new growth.

The light is only a 250 HPS in about 6-7 sq. ft. Had the light at 20 inches but have now moved to a bit over 24. I have done 16-18 on other strains without damage. There is no heat stress that I can detect. The past few days the room has been getting up to 95 a couple of days. Weather is back to normal so we should be back in the mid to high 80's.

Nutes for the past 2 weeks.

GH Flora Series 1-2-4 (grow, Micro and Bloom.) 30ml, 60ml, 120ml. Actually ran 50% nutes for one week and then upped to 100%. Change fluid every 2 weeks. No PPM/EC meter. 5.8-6.2 PH checked daily. Water temp from 66-70. Hit 71 on the hot day so I took out a gallon and chilled it then returned it. Dropped 3 deg.

Running the bubbler 12 on 12 off with the light to help with humidity.

Flushed the system last night. 6 weeks down and not many more to go. Looks like a 8-9 week run with the flowering.

Changed to the late season blend.

GH Flora Series 0-2-4-3 (grow, Micro, Bloom and Koolbloom.) 60ml, 120ml, 90ml in 10 gallon res. I also add 75ml of hygrozyme. Change fluid every 2 weeks. No PPM/EC meter. 5.8-6.2 PH checked daily. Water temp from 66-70. Forgot to add the Koolbloom last nute change.

As per KingJohnC I will now adjust the PH down a bit. I have been very inpressed with his work and comments.

So 5.8 will be the new target +-.2 using the Hanna meter.
