New grower 18 month grow

Dear 420 readers,

I am a new grower in the UK, as many will know we're not always blessed with the most consistent of summers. I planted 8 seeds outside in pot in June but they have not made great progress due to some poor weather. I have recently brought a small grow tent to ensure I can grow a little throughout the winter. My question is with the remaining plants is there any reason I can't keep them inside by a window over winter not under any specific lighting and take them outside again next March when the weather will hopefully improve again and i can hopefully harvest some quite big plants this time next year? I know cannabis plants are usually done in a season but with the right TLC and 're potting as they grow could I ready them for a 2021 harvest.

Thank you

I tried "chasing" the sun around in my windows when I first started, what you will end up with is a tall stretched out plant that wants to fall over in a breeze

Thanks for the welcome, what do you think about keeping the plants alive over winter growing slowly until next year's grow/flowering season? I think it will be too rushed for them to produce flowers this summer before the light goes.

I grow inside, but have kept mothers alive for up to 4 years :thumb:

There is nothing wrong with bringing your plants inside, but the light from your windows will not be enough to keep them alive. They might survive but they will be very inferior plants and so may not produce well.

Your plants will need some special lighting such as an LED or other kind of lights that are recommended for this. I am not a specialist in lighting but I would think a 600w LED - or would this be overkill? Maybe some other members can chime in here.

So that's about all I have to say, except...WELCOME to 420magazine.

We are a friendly bunch here, but the sooner you put your own foot forward the sooner you will make friends.

All my best,
~Magnus

I’ve wondered this myself, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work if done correctly though
I will find out. While I appriciate things might not work out yield wise but my hope is to grow large plants with some lighting indoors, ready to give them a full summer in the sun next year. This way they will be very large and all being well could produce a big harvest. At the moment I could flower them and they would not produce a gram!
I have seen some big cannabis bushes, almost trees online and i dont think they would be possible to grow in months.
I appriciate this might not be time efficient but I will enjoy trying to get them into top condishions for next year.

Actually, whenever I grow photos outside they turn into trees. I grow outside from end of May until september - and I live in Canada - and I still produce trees. It can be done in three months with a good supersoil and careful attention.

Best of luck.

Sounds like a great soil you have. Surely not ones like these in 3 months though?

Forgot to copy you into my response. How much would those beauties produce! I guess the middle leaves wouldbe starved of light a little!
