About 10 years ago, I did grow as a caregiver for 5 months. The patient's setup was Mickey Mouse at best though. so, this is my first grow of my own.
I designed and built the room my self.
Located in a plumbing access closet in my basement. The whole system is hidden inside and out, except for the dryer vent exhaust cover where the light's sealed system blows out.
Grow space is 6 X 4.5 X 5.5 feet
The light's intake is in a crawl space behind a basement wall.
I'm running a single 1000watt, MH/HPS, switchable, digital ballast, wide hood.
I also run a dehumidifier (the room is fully sealed), circulation fan, small space heater (on a heating & cooling controller thermostat), a CO2 system that I spliced together, and an automatic watering system that I build my self.
For my first round, I grew 4 Blue Dream plants from clone.
Soil: Fox Farm Ocean Forest mixed with local(Oregon) organic compost soil.
I used the vegg/bloom/flower Botanicare nutrients, BudSwel, and Root Bloom.
Had a bit of a magnesium deficiency that was corrected with a little Epsom Salt.
Had my ballast turned up to it's super lumens setting and everything filled out pretty well.
