Noob here with a lighting issue

I have a double ended sun system hood with 1000w Hortilux MH bulb. I bought a Vivosun dimmable electronic ballast but it will not keep the bulb on unless it’s already warmed up by using my 1000w magnetic sun system ballast. I went to the dimmable because my 4x4 tent in the basement is getting too hot even with an 8” inline fan.

Just checked. The Eye Hortilux I have is not the “estart” version so that’s why. Guess it’s a new bulb for me.

Not sure what you mean. It’s a Vivosun Powerlux 1000w dimmable electronic ballast

1000w metal halide? With the 1000w I’m getting temps around 81.

81 not bad at all I run 75 to 78 when lights are or

I think you would call mine double end if I'm not mistaken it just means a vent on both ends i think

Thats just a vented hood. A double end bulb fires the bulb from both ends.
