Promix HP questions

I'm using This with perlite in a 60/40 mix.
Still unclear if this should be treated the same as coco.
Given that it has no nutrients in it, does it require feeding on a daily basis, or are people skipping a day or two?
Can it be treated as a typical DTW setup like coco?
I'v been PHing to a range of 5.8 - 6.0. Is this unnecessary with Promix?

Sorry if this has been answered many times already. I tried searching, too many results

Depends on your waters alkalinity and which nutrient line you are using
I use MC and don't pH my mix. I treat it like soil and rely on the added buffers. My input is around 6.5ish pH.
You will meet other growers that insist on pHing.

I feed with every watering. I get them on a 3 day cycle by flower. Use the lift method for watering. You want the wet dry cycle like soil.

Ok... so I'v been feeding every day like coco.
So this is a mistake and I should be transitioning to a wet dry cycle?
I'm at week 5 of veg and using MC at 4g/G
Shed uses the same HP/ MC combo as you. If you need extra tips.
But yes. You should be doing a wet/dry cycle.

I just started using Sunshine Mix#4, same as Promix HP

It's a soil style grow, I do exactly what VG does, and they look amazing

I didn't add Xtra Perlite, straight from the bag

Damn... I'v been treating it like coco. My bad.
The plants look ok so far.
I guess I'll start weaning them off their daily feeding before they go into flower
Thx @Chris Scorpio and @Virgin Ground

You were feeding every day like it was Coco Coir but ProMix is peat moss based.

Even though they are both made from plant material. They both look similar when wet. They are really two different growing mediums.

Coco does not absorb and retain water. It can dry out within a day or two. Peat Moss absorbs water. The same amount in a flower pot can takes days or even a week to dry out.

@Chris Scorpio would know for sure, but even after you wean the plants off the daily nutrients you will still need to add something every now and then. If I am understanding the ProMix properly it does not have enough naturally occurring nutrients. You would have to add the right fertilizers at the right amounts once the plant enter the flowering portion of its life cycle.

Good luck with your grow.
