Seedlings look sick and growing slow! Need help!

Hey everyone, so i thought since i started using distilled water instead of tap water they started perking up, well they did but i still see some kind of problem going on. The leaves look like they are clawing on some and the others dont look as bad but still seems like something wrong.

Im wondering if it could be nitrogen deficiency or nitrogen toxicity. Im using MG seed starter mix with NPK levels 3.3.3 so it shouldnt be toxicity. Im almost wondering if i should do my next watering with a light nutrients, im using flora 3 part mix. My temp is only 25 and my RH is 40% so the only thing i think it could be is bad soil which is throwing off the nitrogen levels.

Im using 10 cfls, 5 23w 5000k and 5 23w 6500k about 5inches above the plants. I make sure to not over water because i let it dry out for 2-3 days until i feel pots are light and crispy dry up to my first nuckle. I also see a few leaf tips turning yellowish brown-ill post a picture. Dont let the pic fool you those lights are bright!

The best way to dial in your watering is weigh a cup with dry dirt with a food scale then wait tell your plant wiegh the same then add 100g of water and see how long it takes to drink the 100g if it drinks it to fast then add more each time and youll know your watering is bang on.thats what i do so i dont have to think about it lol

In addition to the above comments,I found that using RO water caused swings in the PH. So be careful of the PH of the water you are using.

My seedlings were looking rather sickly a week ago.. Was told to add a clear plastic cup over them, and keep misted. They need a much higher humidity. Worked like a charm for me.

Also, I feel your 10 lights are almost overkill? Some of that darkening could be burning a bit.. especially with the low humidity. Others thoughts there??

Yes i was almost thinking the light was to much.. but i also seen people use atleast 2 cfls for each plant and i have 9 plants under 10 cfls. 23w=100w so im not sure if they are 23w or 100w lol

One thing i can say is dont do 100 things at once dail in your watering keep humidity around 50 60 theres really not much more you can do at the seedling stage best of luck bud

Ya.. I'm sure there is a bit of flex on how many can be used. Have to watch each grow I guess. I current have 3 seedlings under 2 CFL bulbs, and they're growing well. Screwed up at start, but with help making a come back.

Example.. my seedlings after a couple weeks, exposed to low humidity and too much light. (Too much light was a low watt MH, not CFLs)



After the advice of a misted clear dome, and less light (again, I did have MH tho...) Not even a week later.

Yes agreed. Don't shock them with too much change quickly.
