Still not ready to harvest

At this point you are only really drying and trying for effect, so taste and turpene care kind of goes out the window for now.

Without understanding why
That's really all you need. The understanding will come with knowledge and experience, keep a photo and a log of his evaluation and build a nice table that allows you as the grower to easily compare and pick for symptoms. He is lucky to have someone who cares. Remember we are all learning and sharing the accumulated knowledge that has, had, or is demonised, and hidden for a long time. What you are doing contributes to the collective knowledge base.
