Trimming roots

Through a series of stupid mistakes I have allowed my plants to get rootbound in my dwc system. Can I trim the roots?

It is advised to NOT trim the roots. no way you can get a bigger container? but if you really have too.. just the most outer bottom part NEVER the main root

It is quite normal to get massive root systems in DWC to be honest i believe it is a good sign, more roots the bigger the yield so they say !

Not sure about the out come of root trimming in DWC tho ? i guess they will grow back but may get temporary shock for a few or so days...


In soil & mediums like that ye not a problem whilst in veg but flowering i would not take any chance's at all !

you will get huge roots in dwc if done correctly. its not a problem as long as you keep the tank topped up. Def dont trim roots if in flower. Its possible in veg but allow a couple weeks to recover.

Yeah, I've always had huge root balls (there, I've said it, may the world tremble), but remember the "stupid mistakes"? This time the root ball blocked the recirculating hose on both sides of the bucket. The water was sucked out of the reservoir, but couldn't drain out of the next bucket in the system fast enough.
I'm running two pots and a reservoir with the problem pot between the res and the first pot. The water overflowed every time I refilled the reservoir, but it took a while to build up to overflow level.
