no... all the house did was pass a bill saying that they are in favor of the above. A bill can not become a law without next going to the Senate and then if it can be approved there, on to the President's desk for signature.

This present exercise in futility will not even get called for vote in the Senate. Big pharma owns the power players in that chamber, and they are not going to budge on this until 2023, when the patent restricting testing in the USA goes away.

As the Senate stands, now - It won't make it out . A few positive votes to cross over after Trump leaves -that will do it . No victory laps ,YET !

The current session of the US Congress will end on Jan 3rd. All legislation that was passed by one chamber but not brought up and passed by the other will become null and void on that day.

Since some Senators and members of the House of Representatives either retired or were voted out and new members elected then a new session has to start. That means any legislation that was not finish by the end of the year has to be re-introduced, discussed and voted on by the members of the congress again.

If it all works out then the new president will be signing something by the end of 2021.

Actually the reason they put the bill up now is because its far more likely for that lunatic Trump to sign it than that Neoliberal A-hole Biden.
Especially if Trump knows Biden would veto it.

Not likely to get past King McConnell anyway.
